Protective Housing Systems LLC has created a way for protecting and repelling unwanted persons or objects from damaging exposed pipelines. The structure will consist of a concrete base constructed to support a metal housing that will be attached to the base.

The base will be generally rectangular in nature and be formed of a concrete material using reinforcement rods for strength and an anchor bolt system to attach the top housing. Anchor bolts are being utilized so that the top housing could be removed and set to the side for major repair. The concrete wall shall extend into the ground at least 30 inches to prohibit persons from being able to tunnel under and damage the pipeline. The wall of the concrete base shall be at least 24 inches thick at the top and possibly thicker at the base located beneath the ground.
The housing can be constructed from many hardened materials such as iron or stainless steel depending on the product being transported or the customer request. The material used could also come in a variety of thickness. That thickness could range from ¼ inch to above 2 inches again depending on the product to be protected or customer request.

The housing shall also have a door for access to workers who may be doing general duty maintenance to the pipeline itself, gages or other needs involving the pipeline. The housing shall be at least 2 feet in height above the top of the exposed pipeline thus allowing routine maintenance.

Ventilation of the housing is imperative for the safety of the exposed lines. The housing is designed with vents built at the bottom of the structure and at the ridge to allow for air flow so potential harmful fumes may not be built up. A steel mesh shall be used at the vents of the housing to not allow persons the opportunity to place unwanted items inside the structure which might damage the pipeline.

The top housing shall be built out of metal and at an angle. The angle of the top housing will be a major factor in helping to resist structure damage. The angles could range from 30 degrees to 65 degrees. The housing will assist in repelling bullets being shot by hunters or persons intentionally trying to damage the pipeline. Because of its secure housing around the pipeline, terrorist and vandals will have a very difficult time if not impossible in destroying or creating a rupture of the line or its components.

Because of its design the structure will also assist in repelling automobiles that might be driven into the pipelines intentionally or by just shear accident.
